Ensuring That VirTra Customers Use Their Training Simulators and Scenarios to Their Fullest Potential
The goal of law enforcement trainers – aside from implementing programs that keep both officers and the community safe – is to take their department to the next level. VirTra offers a variety of in-house and on-site certification courses that are designed to give trainers the ability to excel, improve department goals, and ensure that their training simulators and scenarios are utilized to their fullest potential.
This 40-hour high demand course – for current VirTra customers only – teaches best practices and concepts on how to train effectively in your VirTra simulator and maximize training time. It includes “The Science of Simulation” and “Advanced Operations.” The Science of Simulation is a critical overview and application of the science into adult learning and specifically how it applies to simulations. These adult learning concepts apply to all modes of learning, both in and out of simulated environments. This advanced class has been a highlight for many trainers who have attended. It is not for beginners; we recommend attendees have at least 3 to 6 months of actual experience training with a VirTra simulator.
The VirTra Advanced Trainer Certification Course takes place at VirTra’s corporate headquarters in Tempe, AZ. Remaining sessions for 2019 are currently sold out, and our 2020 offerings are shown below. Please click on “Register Now” for detailed session information.

V-AUTHOR SIMULATION TRAINING (VAST)
This two-day course is designed to give the end user the ability to quickly and efficiently produce geo-specific, single incident simulation training content. During the course, you will learn how to film and process a geo-specific panoramic background image, assign material penetration parameters to objects within your chosen environment, then tie it all together by choosing from hundreds of real-life characters filmed to perform specific behaviors and respond to multiple use of force options. This course does not require trainees to possess any advanced technical expertise. Please contact your sales representative for registration details of this course.
V-AUTHOR PRO CERTIFICATION (VAPC)
This 5-day Pro course is designed to give the end user the ability to not only produce simulation training content but also film your own character assets to be used within the V-Author software. You will learn our proprietary techniques used to develop training assets including script writing, filming actors on a green screen, filming seamless geo-specific video transition and intros, video editing and applying special effects such as muzzle flashes, sounds effects and more. In order to successfully develop custom assets and video transitions for the V-Author Pro software, it should be considered a requirement by the end user to have personnel with prior experience in the areas of filming, editing, and video post-production processes.
